WHY LEVANTINE ARABIC?
Arabic for real connection
We teach spoken Levantine Arabic, with a focus on Shami (Syrian) Arabic - the language you’ll hear in everyday conversations across Syria, Lebanon, Jordon and Palestine.
For us, learning Arabic is all about connection: talking with family, connecting with a partner, chatting with your neighbors, understanding the people around you, or simply feeling closer to a culture or place that matters to you.

We love our students
“I grew up hearing Arabic at home and could understand quite a lot, but I was always nervous about speaking. The lessons helped me fill in the gaps and, most importantly, actually start using Arabic with my family.”
Alissa G.
“I started learning Arabic because I wanted to connect more with my husband and his family. Being able to understand little jokes, join conversations, and say things in Arabic that I couldn’t before has made such a difference.
Sara K.
“I studied Arabic before, but I struggled to understand what people were actually saying in everyday conversations. Learning spoken Arabic made the language feel much more useful and fun to practice.

Questions? We've got you!
What is Levantine Arabic?
Levantine Arabic is the spoken Arabic used across Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan. At Simple & Easy Arabic, we focus mainly on Shami (Syrian) Arabic, while also helping you recognize differences across the wider Levant.
Should I learn MSA or Levantine Arabic?
It depends on what you want to do. If your goal is to read formal texts or follow formal news and media, Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) is useful. If your goal is to talk to people in everyday life, Levantine Arabic is a great place to start—and that’s what we specialize in.
Do I need to know any Arabic before I start?
Not at all. You can start with us as a complete beginner. If you already know some Arabic - or grew up hearing it at home - we can also help you find the right level.
How do I know what level I am?
You don’t need to figure that out by yourself. Book a free 30-minute intake and we’ll talk about what you already know, what you’d like to achieve, and where we recommend you start.
Are the courses suitable for heritage learners?
Absolutely. Many learners already understand some Arabic through family or heritage but don’t feel confident speaking, reading, or using it themselves. We’ll help you build on what you already know rather than automatically starting from zero.
Do I need to know the Arabic alphabet?
No. You can start learning spoken Arabic before you’ve mastered the script. We also offer dedicated alphabet learning if you’d like to learn to read and write alongside your spoken Arabic.
Are the classes online?
Yes. Most of our classes are taught online, so you can learn with our teachers wherever you are. We also offer live 1-1 classes in Damascus, Syria.
Who are the teachers?
Our teachers are native Syrian Arabic speakers based in Damascus and the surrounding area. They teach spoken Shami Arabic and bring their own interests, personalities, and areas of expertise into their lessons.
